Creating Collages With Custom Brushes

Example above used brushes from the angel and arts brush collections below. Images
were painted on top of a cream colored background. I added a ripped paper type of
mask, then I added the Plug-In Galaxy Pop Art Filter effect and drop shadow

"Grunge"scape Graphics and Free Custom Grunge-adaptable Brushes

PSP7/8/9 comes with a set of brushes, pretty basic, no wonder the custom brush
feature is not used often. You can create your own brushes or download some additional
brushes. Using your custom brush tips is like rubberstamping an image. And it's quite
addicting. To use your custom brushes, click on the paintbrush, right click, click tool
properties. Click the little paintbrush to the right of that drop down box. Choose
"custom". Click the arrow and you'll see the brushes you have in your brush folder.
When downloading new brushes, be sure to unzip to your Brush folder in PSP.

The best way to keep your brush sets organized is to
download and create a special folder for each
group, so that they don't get lost among your other brushes.
Especially if they are in themes, as these are.

example: download my angel brushes, when winzip opens, choose extract to, go
to your brush file, create a sub-folder folder named "eye candy angel set". extract.
*To access these brushes, you will have to set PSP preferences for your brush files to
retrieve them from that folder - otherwise you'll just see the main folder of brushes

Examples of Designing With Custom Brushes

Above right is the original brush image color stamped once
The others have the background color set before stamping and
stamped wherever you like on your canvas



Added a red gradient background layer -applied eye candy "melt" filter -everything drips a little	Apply a mask as a new layer you can even make this smaller and create another brush from it
